We can help you and your family with a range of difficulties, including assessment and
treatment. Our aim is to help all members of our community, from babies to adults.
Literacy
Having difficulties with reading, writing or spelling?
TESP uses evidence-based, synthetic phonics programs to develop these skills.
Language
Having trouble getting your message out?
Having trouble getting your message out in clear sentences with the right words? Do
you have trouble understanding what others are saying?
We, at TESP, provide strategies and therapy to help you better express yourself and
understand others.
Stuttering
Repeating sounds or getting stuck on a word?
Do your or a family member repeat sounds or do they hold sounds? Do they ever sound
like they are ‘stuck’ on words?
We use evidence-based strategies and therapy programs to help achieve smooth
speech.
Social Communication
Having difficulty communicating with friends?
​TESP uses programs and strategies to help people develop social skills such as thinking
about others, turn taking, making friends and more.
Fussy Eating
Is your child a fussy eater?
Will they only eat certain foods?
TESP uses evidence-based practices to work collaboratively with families to help a
child expand their foods, to help them meet their nutritional needs.
Swallowing
Do you have trouble swallowing?
Do you often cough after eating or feel food and drink
going down the wrong way?
TESP can help by providing strategies and rehab to improve the safety and function of
your swallow.
Voice
Does your voice sound different?
Does your voice sound different than usual or to your peers?
TESP provides strategies and therapy so you can use you voice safely and effectively.
Speech Sounds
Is someone in your family difficult to understand?
Does their speech sound funny?
We can help identify the errors in their speech and work with them towards clear
speech.
What appointments can I book at Talkers and Eaters?
First visit -
Initial Consult
1 Hour
It's our first time meeting, let's get to know each other.

A case history form will be emailed to the family at the time of booking an initial consult. It must be completed and returned prior to the initial consult.
​
Initial consult is 1 hour and includes:

Brief pre-assessment interview to clarify details in the case history form.

Assessment: this may be in the clinic or include school/ childcare observations if required.

Summary report, outlining results of the assessment.
Ongoing Therapy -
Short Session
30 minutes
Do you have therapy goals?

If you or your child require ongoing therapy after the initial consult.

Sessions are structured by your speech pathologist to target therapy goals.
Speak with your speech pathologist to determine whether short or long therapy sessions suit you.
Ongoing Therapy -
Long Session
45 minutes
Do you have more complex therapy goals?
​
For if you or your child require ongoing therapy for more complex therapy goals after the initial assessment.

Sessions are structured by your speech pathologist to target therapy goals.
Speak with your speech pathologist to determine whether short or long therapy sessions suit you.
How can I pay?
Privately
No referral required. You can inquire any time about a concern.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
If you are self-managed or plan managed, you can receive services funded by the NDIS.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance that includes speech pathology, we can help you
claim your rebate the day of your appointment.
Chronic Disease Managment (CDM)
Your GP may refer you for speech pathology services. These services are eligible for a
Medicare rebate of $58.30. There will be a gap fee, as this does not cover the full cost of
a service.
